Pranayama: Breathing Techniques for Managing Everyday Stress
Sat, Jan 6, 2018, 1:30-3:30pm, Republic of Yoga, Cary, NC

Pranayama is often translated as ‘extension of the life-force’, with life-force being commonly expressed as breath. It is an ancient yogic practice. Breath is readily available to us anytime, everywhere. One can practice helpful breathing techniques while driving, sitting at an office meeting, waiting to board a flight, and of course, during meditation and yoga practices.
In this two-hour workshop Ronen will guide the participants, exploring a host of breathing techniques, and how to apply such methods to anything from our yoga and meditation practices to everyday situations. No previous experience with pranayama is needed. Just dress comfortably. It is recommended not to eat at least one hour before the workshop. Also, please do not wear any strong perfume or deodorant.
Ronen Divon is an E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance® teacher, and YACEP (YA Continuing Education Provider). He has been teaching Yoga and meditation since 2005. In addition to Yoga, Ronen continues to explore and practice various spiritual paths and philosophies. These include the Tao, Tai Chi and Qigong, and South American shamanic healing traditions. Through these practices, Ronen has developed a deep sense of understanding for breathing techniques and energy work. Energy, also referred to as Prana and Qi, can manifest in various forms, including musical vibrations. It is always present around us, inside us. With raised awareness, one can harness this quiet force and direct it as healing, increased vitality and enhanced focus.

Sun, Feb 4, 2018, 1:30 – 4:00pm, Republic of Yoga, Cary, NC

Imagine yourself rising to the tide of a liberating, evolutionary, rhythmic vinyasa flow, followed by a soft and stable landing into a deep yin pose; only to be elevated again into another sequence of fluid breath and movement, culminating with a long supported yin pose.
Like the rhythm of ocean waves caressing the shore, Alisha Nissenfeld and Ronen Divon will take you on a deliberate journey, ending with an extended final restorative relaxation. As you settle deeply into yourself and embody the vibrations of the gong, Ronen will use his skills of non-contact energy work to enhance the sensations each participant may experience. Together, we’ll wash away the old and make space for the new.
WARNING: We might need to kick you out of the studio as you may wish to stay rested here for the remainder of the afternoon and evening! All are welcome. $40.
